Paying it Forward......

When I was vacationing in Maui... December 7th. 2011 ...

I had the opportunity to go on a Pineapple Tour  with my Son Inlaw, daughter and two grandchildren.
after the tour.. which was very educational we were provided with a wonderful lunch at a very nice clean restraunant. The name of it was: Kapalua Resort's Plantation House
I was admiring some of the  displays when my eyes fell upon this wonderful vase.  There was two ladies sitting at a table ... which prevented me from getting closer.  I asked if the one lady would mind if I could get closer to the vase.
She was very plesant and stood up so I could do my aahs.. and hoos.  I loved the vase.. but with things being a bit tight with the economy.. I had to pick and choose ( wants over needs)
I put the Vase back and the Lady that stood asked if like it?  I replyed.. very much so..
I returned to my family and we enjoyed out lunch.. the two ladies passed my table on the way out of the front entrance.
I nodded and said "Goodbye" and they did the same.

Minutes later the Cashier approached me with a gift... she said..." A customer wanted you to have this!"
IT WAS THE VASE!
I couldn't believe this stranger showed such kindness towards me.. I tried to look for her.. but she was gone..
I promised myself I would ...PAY-IT-FORWARD!

Remember there's no such thing as a small act of kindness.. every act creates a ripple with no logical end.

During the Holiday Season I waited and watched for an opportunity to pay-it-forward..
I went to the "Maverick to get my daily coke"
( with a couple squirts of cherry)
I noticed a young girl at the end with a sad face.. putting gas in her car.. I went back into the Maverick and told the clerk I wanted to pay for her gas.. the Clerk smiled and said Really?
Yes.. really.. I paid and went to my car.. the girl went into the Maverick and as I was leaving I passed her.. she smiled and I said Merry Christmas!

Simple deeds give a riviting chill though your soul.
As rabbi Harold Kushner .. reminds us.
"When you are kind to others, it not only changes you it changes the world."

I've done quite well, I must confess,
To ward off Christmas loneliness.
I've mailed surprises many miles
To start those special-morning smiles.
I've packed some food and clothes and toys
For less-than-lucky girls and boys.
I've sprinkled goodies on the snow
To feed small creatures we both know.
A service held by candlelight
Renewed my heart this winter night.
I've helped to decorate our tree;
The house glows warm for you and me.
With you beside me lost in sleep,
My life is full, my love runs deep.
Yet memory stirs a dream long gone;
I listen this December dawn
For childish whispers on the stair,
For tiny steps no longer there.

Merry Christmas to my family for all the great memories, my friends, my blogger friends, my Missionary friends, my neighbors, my new as well as old friends who have made a difference in my life.. my sister's and most of all my Hubby and his patience !

 I know there is alot of pictures.. but I could have gone on for atleast 40 more!
It was a great day...

I have a confession to make.. when my son called me to remind me - that the next day.... was baking with Grandma day..
I was so tired from serving my mission ( Christmas At Temple Square )  that I didn't think I had the energy to make cookies.. and a voice whispered in my ear
" You can always REST but you can't bring back the Time you lost to Make a Memory " 
 I'm so glad I listened.

Well.. well.. the last day of the Month.. Happy Halloween.

What is a "Happy Halloween"  I know for years it wasn't my favorite Holiday because it was alot of work getting eight children out to "Trick or Treat" plus make dozens of cookies for the creepy Halloween Goblin's that would be knocking on our front door. One year it was so crazy that I almost run over my own son.. just so a car could pass by.. in Heber... the roads would be full of cars and all kinds of little kids running here and there. but life was good and memories still linger in my heart...

    Today was Sugar Cookie Day  (Secret recipe)... shhh..sorry.. it's mine and I never share it....but everybody loves it.. that is why I bake about 18dozen for each HOLIDAY!

But look who is here to help Grandma make their own cookies.
